Humans
Humans call their planet Midgard. They’re technologically less advanced than Alternian in many ways but still have spaceships. They’re more advanced in medecine and robotics nonetheless, that’s why they were able to replace Vriska’s left arm with a very good likeness to the one she lost (despite the fact that the skin is slightly darker because DNA is not always predictable at this point).
Humans are very inquisitive, that’s why they didn’t kill the alien when she crashed on Midgard but kept and treated her instead. Later, they interrogated her about Alternia, her race, their habits, etc. Was Alternia a threat or not?
Despite this, some humans are very friendly. Put this together with curiosity and adventurous mind and you’ll know how Serket get a new crew and a new ship.
Human society is organized in castes. Each caste has her own crest and preferred functions. For exemple, members of the Heart caste are generally engineers, roboticians or eventually programmers (Time caste is better in the last one though) whereas members of the Life caste have certainly the best doctors and nurses.
Here are the various castes and some of their associated fields:
- Time : programmation, recording, historic records, …
- Breath : sweep by air, piloting, …
- Doom : tactics, mathematic, probabilty calculations, …
- Blood : diplomacy, rhetoric, translation, …
- Heart (Core caste long ago but changed name because of many protests) : engineering, robotic, building, …
- Space : building, crafting, growth , …
- Mind : law, spying, investigation, …
- Light : psychology, politic, education, …
- Void : philosophy, religion, theoretical, …
- Rage : war (and that is all)
- Hope : leadership, coaching, …
- Life : medicine, surgery, supplying, …
Humans may choose which caste they want to attend at the age of 14 or are assigned to one of their parents caste if they have not decided yet.
Then, most of the youngs move out from their previous home to the University of the chosen caste. They attend to a lot of difficult and serious classes there for the next five years. They are then assigned to one field in particular within the advice of their professors according to their specifics talents (and not always their expectations).
Feferi was worried for some reason. She had a bad feeling since this song began in the spaceship. The pirates remained silent and that was really awkward.
« I’m wondering what’s wrong with this tuna.
- I’m not thure about thith but I have a weird theeling though.
- Whale… let’s check this out Sollux !
- If you want it tho Majesty. »
The princess and his servant took their way through the ship, trying to locate the source of the giddy tune. When they arrived outside the door of the Captain’s room, some pirate eventually stopped them.
« No ! He whispered to them with great fear in his voice. Ya can’t disturb tha Cap’n right now, he’s….uuuh….kinda busy, he begged.
- Out of the way athhole, Sollux answered while pushing him out of the freaking way.
- Ah… sorry about that sir, said the princess while entering the room. »
It really was a fine room. Decorated with fabric of choice in a cosy atmosphere no one ever suspected on a pirate ship. Sweet candles burned calmly on the Captain’s desk and there was a sweet fragrance of lilies in the air. The phonograph kept on playing loud so the Captain couldn’t hear them enter the chamber.
Curiosity took Feferi to the dressing room and she stayed stun for a moment, big shining eyes behind goggles, soon joined by her servant whose jaw nearly crashed onto the floor.
Some decadent shaved legg jumped out the royal dress while Eridan Ampora hummed out the well-knowned tune, waving the fabric left and right in front of a huge mirror. His face was outrageously made-up and giddy when he suddenly jolted with a squeak. The captain flipped out with panic in his dark eyes.
« It is not wwhat you think it is !
- Oh my glub… is that MY dress ?
- I can explain…
- Shit ! Ampora… are you inthane ? !
- Wwhale… I was just tryin to figure out howw her Majesty could movve wwith that magnificent dress… »
Shame tainted his cheeks bright purple.
« You were fucking danthing Troll-Cancan !
- No ! I wwasn’t !
- It is so unfair ! His legs are prettier than mine ! Did you do it in porpoise ? !
- Nooo !
- Well, it ith well shaved for thure.
- Oh my glub… you look beautiful in that dress Eridan!
- Thank you. I mean no! That is not wwhat I wwanted to say! Get out of here!»

Zahhak observed the screen with attention. The subject’s memory retrieval process was long but necessary to reanimate the soul.
At last, a girl face appeared on the screen.
She really was a beautiful woman. It would take all his ability to build a robot to do her justice.
The computer saved the data retrieved so far and accessed the soul to allow his master to communicate with Aradia Megido subject, as specified in the memory datas.
Subject 413 Aradia Megido reached.
Say hi.

Aradia Megido
Age : 23
Race : Alternian
Job : Adventurer
Aradia always was the adventurous kind. Thrilled by ancient ruins, exploration and mysteries, it was only natural for her to become a fierce adventurer.
As she was digging ruins here and there, she met Vriska Serket by coincidence while the girl was hidding in an old catacomb. After having talked to her for a while, she realised the pirate was pursued by bounty hunters.
When said bounty hunters began to destroy and plunder, Aradia went mad. She kicked their asses so hard that even Serket was clearly impressed.
The two girls soon became friends, talking about the universe, shrines and more distant shrines in the universe. The idea of exploring ancient ruins in other planets made up Aradia’s mind. She decided to follow Vriska in her quest and introduced her to one of her childhood friends : Tavros Nitram.
They were ready for the last stand against the Guild. Unfortunately, it didn’t turn as good as they had planned.
Their three spaceships were blown up.
Aradia didn’t make it to the escape pods, her body was taken in the explosion. She died in a blink.
Bodybuilders soon came to pick up scraps from the wreckage. Luckily, Aradia’s corpse was picked up amongst the remains and bringed back to Alternia.
There, one of the bodybuilders named Equius Zahhak found her and took her corpse home without being noticed.
The body was more than seriously burned but. The chirurgical rebuilt would be long, if not endless. He found that her brain was untouched and tried to communicate with it. Turns out Aradia’s mind was stil inside and he was able to help her gain a body again.
Desirous to help her, the guy built a robot body for her and connected her mind to a central computer that could allow Aradia to move the body and communicate with him.
Without a functioning heart and body. Aradia lost her capacity to suffer and therefore to empathise. Her interactions with Equius were somehow merciless and violent and she almost destroyed his lab more than once.
Yet, Equius seemed to have grown found of her, if not completely crazy for the hollow robot girl.
A love that Aradia can’t reciprocate for now but maybe…
